Autumn, path through the woods by Camielle PissaroThe Impressionists had less time to mix color and were forced to paint more quickly to keep up with the ever-changing daylight. As a result, their works generally seemed “unpolished” or messy compared to other artists, and were never really accepted by the art critics. I picked this painting because it looks kind of blurry from close up but as you see it from a distance it form a nice painting.

"Water Lilies," is a series of approximately 250 oil paintings by Claud Monet who was a French Impressionist. The paintings depicted his garden at giverny and were the main focus of his art career. I picked this painting because it seemed interesting to me that even a suffering man can produce such beauty. Plus he only lived thirty years and i feel bad for him so im giving my boy c-money some props

"The Halt during the Chase." Here Watteau shows a group of finely dressed figures in the woods. On the right a woman in yellow is being helped from her horse by a gentleman. Other members of the party have already dismounted and are sitting in the foreground of the picture, a man and a woman with their backs to us are placed in the middle distance, and a man is holding the hands of a seated woman. I picked this painting due to it showing the true deffinition of neo art. The painting shows movement and an easy setting which makes it a perfect example.

This was a fairly gruesome painting for that time, and although based on the French Revolution of 1830, it was obviously highly “romanticized” by Delacroix with bodies piled high. The flag in her hand represented what side she was on in the battle. I picked this painting because of the highly intense levels of emotion that are shown in this painting.

"Life is a theater"During this time, artists were engouraged by the Roman Catholic Church to create work that depicted religious themes on a more emotional level. Artists also experimented with repeated and varied patterns. I picked this painting because i think that it shows great detail in the painting and gives us a real taste of true baroque art.

"Prometheus Bound", the author is Peter Paul Rubens. This painting is an oil on canvas and is dipicting Prometheus having his liver eaten out by an eagle. The theme behind this painting is the story of Prometheus, the God who was chained to a mountain top and was to have his liver eatten every night by an eagle, and then it would regrow only to be eatten again the next night. I picked this because I like the story, and i think its a disturbing event which is pretty cool.
